Semi Ajayi in action as West Brom’s title aspirations suffer setback

Super Eagles defender Oluwasemilogo Ajayi was on for the entire duration as West Bromwich Albion suffered a 0-1 defeat to Brentford in Friday night Championship clash.

The 26-year-old Nigeria who has score five goals this season was making his 37th appearances of the campaign in West Brom for the Baggies who are still searching for their first post-covid-19 win.

Ollie Watkins’ only goal of the game scored in the 16th minute was enough to hand Slaven Bilic’s Baggies another disappointing result and they have now picked just two points from possible 12.

The win is Brentford’s second on the trot and it keeps their hope of reaching the playoff alive and the five points off top spot.

Although West Brom remains on top of the standing on goal difference, they could find themselves second if Leeds win their game against Fulham.
