Semi Ajayi’s West Brom Return to Summit Despite Draw Against Charlton

Title chasing West Brom drew 2-2 against Charlton in the Championship, but result elsewhere favored the Baggies and helped propelled them to the summit of the League.

Another own goal – Semi Ajayi scored one against Leeds – and Slaven Bilic’s men were forced to share the spoils, yet Leeds United’s 2-0 home defeat worked in West Brom’s favor as they reclaimed top spot by a point.

Kenneth Zohore (22′) and Hal Robson-Kanu (46′) scored either side of Josh Davison’s 28th minute opener before goalkeeper Sam Johnstone’s own-goal (76′) gave the hosts a lifeline and eventually a point in the encounter.

Nigeria’s Ajayi got a yellow card in the opening minutes, but also got to play the entire duration and was rated 6.8 by whoscored.com.

Charlton had Adedeji Oshilaja play the entire duration of the game.
