Semi Ajayi couldn’t help West Bromwich avoid defeat on Tuesday as they fell 2-1 to West Ham United at the Olympic stadium.
Ajayi and his teammates went into the match on the back of a 3-2 derby win over Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Molineux on Saturday.
However, on Tuesday the Baggies chased the game after falling behind late in the first half when Jarrod Bowen fired the hosts ahead.
The Baggies then equalised six minutes after the restart, Matheus Pereira, was allowed to run with the ball from midfield to the edge of the box before firing past Lukasz Fabianski.
But, West Ham scored the winner through Micah Antonio in the 66th minute.
West Brom have now lost 12 of their 19 league games this season.
