Simon Moses’ Nantes beaten at home by Lille

Simon Moses was in action for Nantes in their 1-0 defeat to Ligue one Champions Lille on Saturday.

The Nigerian winger started the encounter, but could do little or nothing to stop his club from losing the game.

Lille recognized Simon as one of the arrow heads of Nantes attack and the coach assigned two players to mark him out.

Simon managed to have a decent performance, despite having at least two players on him whenever he had the ball.

However, he has now failed to add to the three goals and seven assists for Nantes this season.

The last time he contributed a goal was February 19, when they defeated Paris Saint German 3-1 at the Stade de la Beaujoire.

The former Gent winger played for 87th minute, before he was substituted by the Coach Antoine Komboaure.

Amadou Onana scored the only goal of the encounter in the 41st minute to give Lille three points.

The 20-year-old reacted quickest on the rebound to slot the ball home after Jose Fonte’s initial header was saved by Lafont.

Meanwhile, Simon is expected to join the Super Eagles ahead of next week’s World Cup qualification play-off against Ghana.
