Moses Simon and his Nantes teammates bid farewell to former Manager Christian Gourcuff, who was sacked by the club on Tuesday.
Gourcuff, was sacked on Tuesday few days after the club’s embarrassing 4 – 0 home defeat to Strasbourg.
In a statement on the club’s website, an interim Manager was named immediately in his place.
FC Nantes and Christian Gourcuff have decided to end their collaboration as of Tuesday, December 8, 2020.
FC Nantes sincerely wishes to thank the Breton technician for his professionalism and wishes him the best for the future.
From today, the professional work force will be under the orders of Patrick Collot who will act as interim. He will be assisted in this mission by members of the current technical staff.
Gourcuff was responsible for Simon’s transfer to the club from Levante last summer after an impressive debut in the French Ligue One.
The Nigerian enjoyed a productive first season under Gourcuff, where he finished as the club’s top scorer and was subsequently named club’s player of the year.
Gourcuff leaves Nantes in 14th position with 13 points from possible 42 after 13 matches.
