Simy Nwankwo was in action for Salernitana in their Italian Cup match against Genoa on Tuesday.
The lanky forward enter into the game as a 69th-minute substitute, but could not save them from exiting tournaments.
The game ended 1-0 in the favour of Genoa and the result increased the pressure on Simy Nwankwo and the entire squad.
Simy Nwankwo who scored 22 goals for Crotone last season has been disappointing for Salernitana this season, scoring just once in sixteen appearances.
Salernitana has now lost ten of last 12 matches – they last won a game on October 2nd, when they beat Genoa 1-0.
They would face Inter Milan in their next league and needs more than a miracle to avoid another defeat.
Salernitana sits bottom of the Serie A standing — with just eight points from seventeen matches.
