Super Eagles striker Simy Nwankwo was on song in Italy as he bagged his first Serie A goal for Salernitana at the Stadio Alberto Picco this Saturday.
The 29-years who joined the club in the summer on loan a season long-loan from Crotone, put his team in front on 39 minutes, after connecting with a pass from his compatriot Joel Obi.
However, the goal wasn’t enough to earn Salernitana 1919 a point as the hosts fought back to seal a win 2-1.
David Strelec restored the parity on the 52nd minute, before Viktor Kovalenko, netted the second on the 76 minutes.
Simy who scored 20 goals for Crotone last season, will be looking to build on his performance in subsequent matches.
Salernitana is currently second from the bottom of the standings with four points from a win and a draw.
