Nigerian World Cup striker Simy Nwankwo started his second Serie A game for Salernitana against Genoa at the Stadio Arechi on Saturday.
Nwankwo joined the Serie A new boys on a season-long loan from Crotone, but he has struggled to break into the starting eleven.
The 29-year-old has made five substitute appearances for the club, and his only start was in a 2-2 draw against Verona on September 22nd.
The lanky forward who lasted for just 61 minutes against Genoa is still searching for his first goal for the Club.
Substitute Milan Djuric scored the lone goal that gave Salernitana the victory five after Simy was withdrawn to the bench.
Meanwhile, Joel Obli also saw action for Salernitana. The midfielder came on for injured Mamadou Coulibaly in the 46th minute.
The victory lifts Salernitana to 19th on the table with just four points from seven rounds of games.
