Simy Nwankwo made his debut for his new team US Salernitana1919 against Bologna Stadio Renato Dell’Ara on Sunday.
The Nigerian international started the match from bench as the Serie A new boys were narrowly edged 3-2 by their hosts.
The 28 years old who joined the club on Wednesday on loan from Crotone, was introduced to the match in 64th for Milan Đurić.
However, Simy, who scored 20 Serie A goals for Crotone lastseason, failed to rescue the Club from defeat.
Federico Bonazzoli put Salernitana n front from the penalty spot in the 51st minutes, but Lorenzo De Silvestre equalused for the home side eight minutes later.
Mamadou Coulibaly restored Salernitana’s lead in the 70th minutes, before two quick goals from Marco Arnautovic and Lorenzo DeSilvestre secured the win for Bologna.
Joel Chukwuma was also handed his debut by Coach Fabrizio Castor, as he was introduced eight minutes from regulation time in place of Leonardo Capezzi.
