Former Super Eagles defender, Sam Sodje hailed Leicester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho for pulling off a huge achievement by winning the EPL player of the month award.
In a chat with brila.net, Sodje said he is really happy for the striker who failed to impress at Manchester City but now doing everything at Leicester.
“EPL is a difficult league, says the former Reading defender.
“It is huge stuff for Kelechi, remember he had it tough when he started at Manchester – but he has proven his worth at Leicester now,” He added.
Iheanacho saw off competitions from Harry Kane, Andreas Christiansen, Illan Meslier, Luke Shaw, Jesse Lingard, Riyad Mahrez, and Leandro Trossard to win the award.
He is the fourth Nigerian to win the Player of the Month award after Jay-Jay Okocha, Peter Odemwingie, and Odion Ighalo.
