Real Madrid-bound defender Theo Hernandez is the subject of a sexual assault investigation, according to reports in Spain.
Hernandez, 19, who is poised for a big-money move from Atletico Madrid across the city this summer, is alleged to have assaulted a 20-year-old woman in a Marbella nightclub. He has denied the charge.
Spanish newspapers El Espanol and Marca have both cited police sources confirming a report has been filed.
The Spanish press claim there are some ‘contradictions’ within the accounts of what happened.
According to Marca, the complainant has stated that she and Hernandez were friends and had gone out for drinks at the Olivia Valere nightspot when the footballer suggested they go out into the car park.
The woman claims she and Hernandez were engaged in sexual activity inside a Porsche Cayenne but she asked him to stop, the reports say.
However, it is alleged that Hernandez did not stop and a struggle ensued, during which he continued to sexually assault her before throwing her from the car.
The woman also claims that she was subsequently insulted by Hernandez’s former Alaves team-mate Alexis when she returned to the club.
Hernandez will move to Real Madrid in a move worth around £21m when the summer transfer window is opened.
He recently riled the France Under 21 setup by failing to turn up for training despite being called up for national duty.
