South Africa football is mourning the death of 23-year-old Ntuthuko Radebe, who died in a car crash recently.
SAFA President, Dr Danny Jordaan said “as a football family we have lost another valuable member” as he sent his condolences following the passing on the former U17 and U20 National Team player.
Radebe a former club teammate of Nigerian forward, Henry Onyekuru, lost his life in a car accident in his hometown of Newcastle, KwaZulu-Natal.
He had been on the books of KAS Eupen in Belgium and was in search of a club in South Africa when he met his untimely death.
“The death of a young person who had so much ahead of him is tragic, and as the Association we would like to convey our deepest condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of Ntuthuko. May they be comforted during these difficult times,” said Dr Jordaan.
“As a football family we have lost another valuable member at a time when we are throwing all our energies towards Vision 2022 where we believe he could have an integral part of the project.
“We currently have 19, 22 and 23 year olds in the COSAFA Cup squad, who are the drivers of Vision 2022, and which is where the likes of Ntuthuko fit in, but unfortunately it is not going to be case with him.[sic]
“We are deeply saddened by his loss and may his soul rest in peace,” the South Africa FA chief said in a statement issued by the body.
Radebe has never played in the PSL but had been called up to the national teams by former head coach of U17 and U20, Solly Luvhengo.
