Southampton interim head coach, Simon Rusk has confirmed that striker Paul Onuachu is fit and available for today’s Premier League fixture against Leicester City at the King Power Stadium.
Onuachu missed last weekend’s 2-1 home defeat to Fulham due to injury, sparking concerns about his availability for the remainder of the season.
However, Rusk provided a positive update during his pre-match press conference.

“We’re in good health,” Rusk told the club’s official website. “Paul’s been training the last couple of days, he’s back in the mix, so that’s good news.
“Across the board we’ve had good training numbers this week, so we’ve got pretty much a clean bill of health as we stand here today.”
It remains uncertain whether Onuachu will start or come off the bench, but his return is a welcome boost for the Saints as they prepare for the trip to face Leicester.
Despite Southampton’s struggles this season, Onuachu has been one of their more consistent performers.
The 30-year-old has contributed five goal involvements in his last twelve Premier League appearances, underlining his influence in a difficult campaign.
In total, he has registered four goals in 23 league matches and featured in 26 games across all competitions, starting in 11.
Signed from Belgian club Genk, Onuachu arrived at St Mary’s with high expectations.
With one year left on his contract, speculation around his future is intensifying.
Onuachu was linked with a departure last summer, and fresh rumours suggest he could be on the move again at the end of the season.
Both Southampton and Leicester have already been relegated to the Sky Bet Championship, setting the stage for significant squad changes ahead of next season.
