Sporting Charleroi set to sign Osimhen on permanent deal

Belgian side Sporting Charleroi has exercised their right to sign Nigeria forward Victor Osimhen on a permanent transfer from the German side, Wolfsburg.

Osimhen joined the Belgian side on a season-long loan from Wolfsburg who signed him after he excelled in the FIFA U-17 World Cup back in 2015 in Chile.

 

The forward hit his best height since moving to Europe in just concluded season where he banged 20 goals as well as four assists in 36 games in all competitions.

 

French online news outlet, l’equipe.fr, however, reported that Charleroi have activated the €3.5m buyout option in the agreement to make the forward their first signing of the summer.

 

Clubs has made inquiry about the player and it is believed that Italian giants AC Milan, Southampton and Lille are interested in the services of the FIFA U-17 golden boot and Silver ball winner.

 

However, it was understood that Charleroi will listen to offer in the region of €12m and €15m from any of the suitors which will represent a significant profit for them.
