Sports Minister Sunday Dare To Dig Into Falcons’ 2020 Olympics Failure

The Honorable Minister for Sports, Sunday Dare said he will look into the crisis rocking Nigeria’s Super Falcons that led to their failure of qualifying for Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

 

The African Champions were held to a 1-1 draw by Cote D’Ivore at soccer team temple in Agege on Monday , a result that ended their hope of qualifying three straight Olympic games.

 

 

After a goalless first leg in Abidjan, Nina Kapho gave the ivorians a shock lead in the 12th minutes, before new captain Asisat Oshoala netted the equaliser in 34th minutes.

 

However the team failed to find the much needed winner in the second half of the game, as he Ivorians held on to a famous win at the backyard of their enemies.

 

 

Following the disgraceful outing , The Minister revealed via his twitter account that the time is right to look into the problems facing the team.

 

 

“Our Super Falcons unfortunately failed to secure a ticket to the Olympics even though they were galant. This offers an opportunity to dig into what led to this failure and to take proactive steps for the future and Nigeria’s football administration”. He said.
