Stanley Eguma happy to see Rivers United back in title race

Rivers United recorded a 3-1 victory over Plateau United at the Adioke Amasemaka stadium in Port Harcourt on Thursday.

The victory, however, means the Pride of Rivers are now back in the title race as they moved up to fourth position on the table.

Godwin Aguda scored the first goal, before Malachi Ohawuma and Shedrack Oghali added the second and third, while the visitors got theirbconsolation through Andrew Ekefe.

Speaking to press after the game, Rivers United manager Stanley Eguma who returned to the dugout for the first time since he was kidnapped, said he proud of his team’s reaction after weekend’s defeat to Nasarawa United.

“It a good result, I commend the players for their efforts after losing that game in Nasarawa last weekend we had to work harder and re-strategies to get the victory against plateau United who are a very good side”,said the gaffer.
