Steve Cooper provides Update on Awoniyi’s Recovery

Super Eagles star striker Taiwo Awoniyi, is back in training with Nottingham Forest.

Awoniyi has been out of action since January, no thanks to a groin injury he sustained during the side’s 1-0 win against Southampton at St. Mary’s.

The 25-year-old has missed 11 matches – in all competitions – for the relegation battling Forest.

“Taiwo Awoniyi is progressing well, he works on the grass and comes back running. He’s not with the team yet and isn’t kicking any balls but he’s making progress which is good for him,” Cooper told reporters.

The forward has scored four goals in 16 league appearances for Forest this season.
