Glasgow Rangers coach Steven Gerrard, stated that he want Super Eagles defender Leon Balogun to prolong his stay at the club beyond this campaign.
Gerrard’s Rangers signed Balogun on a free transfer last summer after his exit from English side Wigan Athletics following their relegation to league one.
The Nigerian international put pen to paper for a twelve month deal with the Gers with an option of additional year and it has proved to good bargain for both parties.
Balogun’s current deal will be up in the summer and Gerrard made it clear in Friday’s news conference ahead trip to Aberdeen that the club is working round the clock on new agreements.
”All contract chat will remain private between players and the club once they get up and running.
“At the right time, we will sit down and talk. Leon Balogun is also someone we want to keep hold off,” he stated”.
Balogun has been a successful signing at the Ibrox, helping the club to top of the league summit with 18 clean sheet.
Thwy also remain unbeaten in the league, but the run will be on the line when they face Aberdeen at the Pittodrie on Sunday.
