Stewart urges Rangers to keep Bassey after Europa League final

Calvin Bassey is enjoying the rave review after his mind-blowing performance against eventual winners Einthranct Frankfurt in the Europa League final.

The 22-year-old played a great game in the defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt and former midfielder Michael Stewart the Gers should everything possible keep him.

Rangers and Frankfurt met in the final at Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium in Sevilla. And the game ended in a 1-1 draw for 120 minutes.

The Bundesliga side however held their nerves to win the game 4-5 on penalties.

Despite the defeat, Bassey was praised for his display and Stewart advised Rangers to reject any offer for him.

“Calvin Bassey is absolutely unbelievable. Can’t quite believe how good he has been in the second half of the season.”

“They must do everything to keep a hold of him. If players must be sold then they can’t let him be one of them. Tremendous player,” The 41-year-old said.

Bassey has made 44 appearances for Rangers in all competitions this season.
