Sule envisions financial challenges for NNL clubs ahead January 30 kickoff

Chairman of Nigeria National League club owners association Abdul Sule has stated that while it is good to eventually move jointly the drive for the commencement of the season in the nation’s second tier league which has been fixed for the 30th of January 2021, there will be financial constraints for NNL clubs which may alter the smooth running of the league season.

Sule speaking in a chat with www.brila.net said starting the league will be God for the players and everyone after over a year of inactivity at the National League level which has been on even before the lockdown period.

He however hope this gets taken care off along the way with financial input from sponsors and the government to ensure that the league eventually don’t suffer another stoppage like it did in 2019.

“I believe that most of the teams are set maybe not financially but we can just start to take off, all the clubs have accepted to play so I don’t think there is going to be an issue except maybe fee weeks into the season where clubs may start complaining about money but maybe the money will start coming in before then too. We don’t need to wait till March or April because even if we start then, it’s the same problem.”
