Sadeeq Yusuf was relieved to get his name back on the scoresheet after a difficult patch in front of a goal for Sunshine Stars.
After going nine league games without finding the back of the net, the Owena Whales forward capitalized on an error from Akwa United defenders to find the back of the net.
In scoring the goal, Yusuf did not only ended his goal drought but he took his goal tally for the season 2020-2021 Nigeria professional football league season to nine.
In a chat with brila.net, Sadeeq Yusuf said he’s glad to end the goal drought and looking forward to celebrating more goals in the colors of the club.
“I’m glad it’s finished. Every striker needs goals and I’m happy to hit the net again. it hasn’t been easy for me in recent week, but finally, the drought is over.” He told brila.net.
Now that the drought is over, Sadeeq Yusuf disclosed that ending Sunshine Stars’ bad run of results is next in line.
“We deserved at least a point from the game against Akwa United, it was a very close one and it was disappointing not to come out with something”
