Super Eagles Algeria bound, will train once before Matchday

The Super Eagles will fly out to Algeria from their Morocco camp early on Thursday and train once before Friday’s dead rubber 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier.

Nigeria have booked their place at next summer’s tournament with a game to spare but the three-time African champions put in just as much work.

Rohr prepared his team for three days in Morocco ahead of the qualifier but will also have his sights set on the international friendly against Argentina three days later.

Media Officer of the Super Eagles Toyin Ibitoye disclosed the team was ready and gave updates on the fitness of captain Mikel Obi and how new invitee Francis Uzoho was settling in with the team.

‘The players are ready to head out to the airport this morning and we’re all in high spirits.

‘Mikel trained well and has put the injury that kept him out for 6 weeks behind him. Uzoho has also been on top of his game and he is pumped up,’ Ibitoye explained.

‘The travel will be about an hour’s flight and arriving early enough so we can have at least one training session before matchday.’
