Former Nigeria international, Ifeanyi Udeze has urged the Nigeria Football Federation [NFF] to tighten the wage discrepancy between the senior men and women national teams.
Udeze described the huge wage gap between the Super Eagles and Super Falcons as illogical and unfair, especially considering how much glory the latter have brought to the Country.
The Super Falcons is the most successful Women’s national team in Africa, having won eight continental titles between 1998 and 2016.
‘When I played for the Super Eagles we used to earn between $5000 and $10,000 for international matches or in competitions as bonuses. And got between 200 or 300 as daily allowance at competitions.
‘I don’t think the Super Falcons even get 50 percent of that Today and it simply is unfair and even unreasonable considering how much our women have done,’ Udeze said during the Breakfast show on Brila FM.
Super Falcons are paid between $2000 and $3000 as winning bonuses.
