Enyimba Number 1 Shotstopper Theophilus Afelokhai has expressed his excitement over his late call-up to the Super Eagles, saying it is the chance he has been waiting for.
Afelokhai was invited as a replacement for injured Francis Uzoho in time for the forthcoming 2019 AFCON qualifier in South Africa and a friendly against Uganda.
“This is the opportunity I have been ready for,” the former Kano Pillars shot-stopper said.
“I hope to take it.”
Afelokhai shone as Enyimba reached the semi-final of this year’s CAF Confederation Cup and he did so while keeping Super Eagles goalkeeper Ikechukwu Ezenwa on the bench for most of the season.
Theo. will now be fighting for the Number 1 spot alongside Daniel Akpeyi and fellow Enyimba player, Ikechukwu Ezenwa.
