Super Eagles Technical Adviser Gernot Rohr has informed reporters that Odion Ighalo’s call-up to the Super Eagles for the Seychelles Clash is a chance for him to prove his critics wrong.
Speaking during Friday’s press conference at the NFF House in Surulere Lagos, Coach Rohr said this is another chance for Ighalo to show Nigerians he can still score the goals.
Ighalo has been in top form for his Chinese Super League side Changchun Yatai scoring 14 Goals this season and being joint top scorers in the CSL.
Ighalo’s missed chances during the Super Eagles unimpressive World Cup campaign made bookers feel he might not get an invite into the squad any longer.
However, The Franco-GERMAN tactician has given the former Watford and Udinese forward another rare chance to silence his critics.
Ighalo has been given another call-up alongside other strikers, Simon Nwankwo, Ahmed Musa, Kelechi Iheanacho, Henry Onyekuru, and Samuel Kalu.
The Super Eagles will take on Seychelles in September.
