Despite qualifying for the 2022 African Cup of Nations with two games to spare, Super Eagles Captain Ahmed Musa says the team can even achieve better results in the future.
The Super Eagles defeated the Benin Republic in dramatic fashion at the Stade Charles De Gaulle on Saturday to qualify for their 17th Afcon.
Paul Onuachu scored in the 93rd-minute header from a goalmouth scramble to hand the Eagles another bragging right over the Squirrels.
In his reaction to the victory, Musa said unity and empathy among the players make the job easier and he believes they can go on achieving better results in the future.
“Teamwork makes the dream work. The fantastic result today & together we can even achieve better in the next games Mates. Thanks to all our fans for your unwavering support.” He posted on Twitter.
Nigeria remains unbeaten in the qualifiers with three wins and two draws from matches played.
They will conclude the qualifiers against Lesotho at Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos.
