Super Eagles Coach: NFF prepares for showdown talks with Sport Ministry

There’s a scheduled meeting between the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and the Sports Ministry over the appointment of the next Super Eagles coach.

According to reports the NFF has settled for Portuguese José Peseiro, but the Ministry have a different opinion and have directed the Federation to interview other candidates who applied for the Super Eagles job.

Dutchman Philip Cocu, former Barcelona manager Ernesto Valverde and ex PSG boss Lauren Blanc are the other candidates who applied for the position.

However the NFF executives believes Peseiro is the ideal man for the job as the Portuguese is committed to their proposal and he’s ready to live in Nigeria.

The former Sporting Braga coach wants accommodation in Lagos and Abuja, which the NFF has agreed to provide.

The NFF will now meet the Minister next week and try to convince him to approve Jose Peseiro for the team.
