Super Eagles defender begins search for a new Club

Leon Balogun will have to look for a new club when his contract expires at Queens Park Rangers this summer.

The defender has been told he won’t be offered a new deal at the Loftus Road following an unimpressive campaign.

Queens Park Rangers couldn’t count on the experience of the defender for most of this campaign due to injury.

Balogun, 34, joined as a free agent last summer and played 16 times as he spent most of the time on the treatment table.

The club struggled all season in his absence and the management have now decided to make several changes to the squad ahead of next season, with Balogun one of six players told to leave.

Separate reports however claimed Balogun isn’t wasting any time and is already on the search for a new team.

The Super Eagles defender is open to continue in England, and will also consider a return to Germany, where he started his career.

Balogun had a forgettable period in the Premier League, where he barely featured for Brighton Hove Albion before leaving for Wigan.

The Latics went into administration in his only season with them and he then joined Scottish club Glasgow Rangers where he won silverwares.
