Super Eagles Defender suffers Ankle ligament damage

Super Eagles defender Oluwasemilogo Ajayi will be out of action for weeks due to an ankle ligament damage.

Ajayi limped off in the first half of West Brom’s 1-1 draw at Wigan in the Championship, having made an error for the Latics’ opener at the DW Stadium.

Manager Steve Bruce told Birmingham Mail, that he’s not expecting a great news after the game

“Not great. We’ll not know until the scan but it doesn’t look great, I have to say,” Bruce said.

“He’s hurt his knee and his ankle and they are not looking good. I’m not anticipating good news on that, that’s for sure.”

The player however had a test and the result revealed he will sidelined for only few weeks and it is probably better than was initial feared.

Ajayi’s injury is a setback for the team, who will be without arguably on of the Baggies’ best players since Steve Bruce took over the squad.

The 28 year-old has been ever present in the heart of the defense and captained the team on numerous occasions.
