Super Eagles players Wilfred Ndidi and Paul Onuachu were in action on Saturday as Leicester City defeated Southampton 2-0 at the King Power Stadium in their Premier League clash.
The Foxes came into the tie desperate to halt a dire run of home form, having lost nine consecutive league matches at the King Power without scoring.
That run was finally snapped with a composed and dominant display against the bottom-placed Saints.
Ndidi, making his 26th Premier League appearance of the season, featured for the entire game and delivered a top performance.
The midfielder won three of five ground duels, made two clearances, registered two interceptions, and completed three tackles to help Leicester keep a clean sheet.
On the other side, Paul Onuachu was handed a start for Southampton, marking his 24th league appearance of the campaign.
Although the forward has scored four goals this season, he found little joy against Leicester’s backline.

Fellow Nigerian Joe Aribo was named on the bench for Southampton but remained an unused substitute.
Leicester seized control early, with Jamie Vardy opening the scoring in the 17th minute after a well-worked move.
Jordan Ayew doubled the lead just before halftime, slotting home in the 44th minute to give the Foxes a comfortable cushion.
Southampton’s Mateus Fernandes found the net after Onuachu’s header was parried by Jakub Stolarczyk, but the goal was disallowed for offside.
The defeat compounds Southampton’s miserable campaign, extending their winless run to 12 games, including nine losses and three draws.
They are now guaranteed to finish bottom of the Premier League table for a joint-record third time and are still one point shy of surpassing Derby County’s all-time low of 11 points set in the 2007/08 season.
