Super Eagles have no excuse not to beat Benin Republic – Musa

Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa insists the Super Eagles have no excuse not to beat Benin Republic in Wednesday’s 2021 African Cup of Nations qualifiers billed for Next of Champions stadium in Uyo.

The three time African Champions had just one full training session before the game on Wednesday night, Musa who’s just returning from injury is adamant that the players must prove their worths despite the difficult situations.

“Yes just one training session, but I think that is not an excuse not to play well, we are all professionals and we talks to ourselves about winning the game”.

The Al Nassr of Saudi Arabia winger added that he’s happy to be back in the sqaud after missing last two matches with UKraine and Brazil.

“I’m very happy to be back from injury. Over 2 months now, I’ve not played football but thank God, finally, I’m back, so I’m happy,”

“As you can see, we don’t have much time with the team, we’ve just had our first training session with the players.

“So I know it’s a very difficult game but we know the task ahead of us, so we will have to do our best to win the first game (against Benin).” He concluded.

Musa will hope to make his first appearance for Nigeria since helping the team finished third in 2019 African Cup of Nations in Egypt.
