Kano Pillars forward, Nyima Nwagua says he’s surprised but excited to be included in coach Gernot Rohr’s Super Eagles standby list for the friendly against Uganda and AFCON qualifier against South Africa next month.
Gernot Rohr told the media, shortly after the 2018 Aiteo Cup Final in Asaba that he was impressed with the first half performance of the former Go Round captain, where he got Kano Pillars’s third goal before the team second half horrific display.
Junior Lokosa and Nwagua called up to Super Eagles
While reacting to the news of his invitation Nwagua said he’s surprised but has been working hard for it.
“Honestly, I’m very surprised for making the standby list for the Super Eagles. I have been working hard all these years to get to the top, but things are getting actualized than I expected.
If I get to play, then I won’t the disappoint the Coach and the fans”. He told Sportlens.
Nwagua and his strike partner Junior Lokosa are expected to join other invited Super Eagles players in Asaba on Monday, 12th November.
