Super Eagles Defender, Elderson Echiejile was superb in the Eagles defense yesterday as the super Eagles thrashed the indomitable lions of Cameroon with four un replied goals.

Echiejile expressed his delight following the results of dedication and hard-work in Friday’s 4-0 thrashing of Cameroon in the Group B match day-3 match of the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Indomitable Lions of Cameroon in Uyo.

Elderson, who has just joined Turkish club, Sivasspor during the recently closed transfer window says he is already looking forward to the next challenge.

“I’m happy about the outcome of our game. We worked and prayed so hard for this. And with total commitment, we were able to outshine our opponents.

Reacting to the win, Echiejile who was on top of his game throughout the match says the victory came as a result of dedication and tremendous hard-work, boasting of his and the teams’ readiness for the return leg in Yaoundé on Monday.

“Looking forward to the next challenge already”, Elderson wrote on his twitter handle after the game.

Cameroon shorned the Eagles of the ball in the early exchanges and stand in goalkeeper Ikechukwu Ezenwa had to be on top of his game to save a header from defender Ngadeu.

Echiejile was the most Experienced defender in the super Eagles lineup yesterday and he was in fantastic form all through the game as he played out the whole duration of the game.

Meanwhile, John Obi Mikel showed what the Super Eagles missed in his absence against South Africa. On his return to the team, he contributed an assist and a goal. Talk about leading by example.

With both Victor Moses and Jude Ighalo also making their returns with some class performance. They both tormented the Cameroonians so much that the Lions looked so scared to get close to them. The two lads Capped it with a beautiful goal apiece.

The win gave Nigeria a massive boost as the Eagles moved one step closer to the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.

The Eagles came into the game top of group B with six points while their Cameroonian rivals came second in the group with two points. The return fixture takes place in Yaounde on Monday, 4th September.
