Super Eagles paid the price for underestimating Central African Republic – Dosu Joseph

Ex international Dosu Joseph has stated that the Super Eagles paid for underestimating Central African Republic on Thursday.

The Super Eagles bowed to the Wild Beasts in their match day three encounter of the ongoing FIFA World Cup qualifiers at the Teslim Balogun Stadium.

Substitute Karl Namnganda, who plays in the French fourth tier for Les Herbiers, capitalised on the errors from Leon Balogun and Troost-Ekong  to score the winner in the 91st minute.

It was Nigeria’s first loss at home in a World Cup qualifier since October 1981 when they lost 2-0 to Algeria in Lagos.

Reacting to the shocking result, Dosu who helped Nigeria qualify for the France 98 FIFA World Cup opined that the team paid for underestimating the Raoul Savouy’s men.

“Super Eagles players paid for underrating Central African Republic” He posted on his social media handle.

Nigeria and Central African Republic will clash again for the second leg on Sunday.
