Super Eagles handler, Gernot Rohr says he’s satisfied with the performance of his players against Liberia on Friday.
The Super Eagles began their quest for qualification for Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup with a 2-0 victory over Lone Stars of Liberia at the Teslim Balogun Stadium.
Two first half goals from Kelechi Iheanacho were enough to give Gernot Rohr and his wards their first three points of the campaign.
Speaking after the game, but Rohr said he’s happy from his boys.
“It was a good game from both team in difficult conditions. ” He said.
“We knew that some of our players have to leave after this match and they have to do well, before leaving.
“We scored our goals in the first half and we were calm in the second. We played good football, although we couldn’t score a goal, but they played well in difficult conditions.”
“After the heavy rain, the pitch was not in good conditions for the two team, but we adapt and do our job.” he said.
