Taribo West [Inter Milan, Italy]

Taribo West (UEFA Europa league winner) Taribo is arguably the most successful centre-back Nigeria has had in history. His best footballing season ever was the 1997/98 season with Inter Milan when he helped his team win the UEFA Cup alongside the world’s most expensive player then, Ronaldo de Lima.

Chidi Odiah [CSKA Moscow, Russia]

Odiah still remains one of the best wing-backs that has ever played for the Super Eagles. He became a darling with Russian side CSKA Moscow and played an integral part in their UEFA Cup success in 2005.

The former Julius Berger man was a midfielder but was converted into a full-wing-back position because of his ability to defend, attack and shoot with both feet.

John Mikel Obi [Chelsea, England]

The Super Eagles Captain is the last Nigerian to win the coveted Champions League with Chelsea under the tutelage of Roberto Di Matteo with a nervy win over Bayern Munich in 2012.

The influential Midfielder followed up the European strides with another trophy in 2013 under former Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez, who took over from Club legend, Roberto Di Matteo.

Victor Moses [Chelsea, England]

Moses Joined Chelsea from Wigan Athletic for the 2012/2013 Season and was a member of the team that won the 2013 Europa League under Spanish Manager Rafa Benitez, who took over the reigns at the Bridge after the dismissal of Champions League winning Coach and Club Legend, Roberto Di Matteo.

Moses was fully involved in the Europa League than he was for Chelsea in the domestic League that season. He joined John Mikel Obi as another Nigerian to win the UEFA competition with the West London club.
