Super Eagles to play top African teams in friendly ahead 2019 AFCON – NFF

Ahead of the 2019 African Cup of Nations, The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has revealed their plans to engage the Super Eagles in a grade A friendly matches before the competition proper.

Nigeria booked her place in the African football biggest competition with a 1-1 in Johannesburg back in November, having missed out of the two previous editions.

 

According to AOIFootball, the NFF Is leaving no stone unturned so the team could have adequate preparation before the tournament and had concluded arrangements with top three ranked African sides for exhibition games in 2019.

 

Speaking on the preparations for the AFCON which is  slated for June 2019, although the host yet to be named by CAF, the NFF Chief Amaju Pinnick said the Eagles will play best teams on the continent.

 

“You know there is just one free window before the AFCON, so we decided on playing a top country to offer us good competition. I can confirm that we are going to be hosting a top team in Africa, one of the top 3 on the continent,” Pinnick said.

 

“We play Seychelles on the 22 of March, then three days later we play the friendly match here in Nigeria. I won’t mention the country but I can assure Nigerians that the deal has been concluded already.”
