Former Player of the Super Eagles, Friday Ekpo has said the national team needs more quality players in the first team and stand by replacements in every department.
Ekpo insists the team in its current state is not a compact side and requires capable deputies for “brilliant but injury-prone Carl Ikeme” whether from home or abroad.
He argues that the defence also needs a player who can be marshal the back four just as the team needs a maestro, capable of creating and coordinating play between the defence, midfield and Attack.
Concerning the Super Eagles attack line, Ekpo stressed that Nigeria requires a player capable of converting chances, even at half breath.
The former player, who currently serves as a member of the Akwa United Technical board, argues that the Super Eagles boss Gernot Rohr, must look within the NPFL for capable legs to fortify his rebuilding project.
