Maduka Okoye is upbeat about the Super Eagles’ chances of featuring at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Okoye and his teammates secured tickets to the final phase of the African qualifiers, following their 1-1 draw against Cape Verde at the Teslim Balogun Stadium last month.
Despite the qualifications, the team has been criticized for poor performances and the future of head coach Gernot Rohr is still unresolved.
The draw for the playoff round of the qualifier has been scheduled for January 2022 and Okoye, is confident the team will rise above all challenges and pick the ticket.
“I am very sure because one thing I learned is that when it comes to the point where we have to, we are going to do everything to get the win.
“I saw this before I entered the Super Eagles, but I also saw it while I’m with the Super Eagles, so I’m very sure that no matter what, we’re going to get a ticket for a World Cup,” he told ESPN.
