Super Falcons Defender insists WAFCON title Ambition still Alive

Super Falcons CB Ashleigh Plumptre has declared that the team is still focused on retaining the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations despite the early setback.

The Falcons got their title defence off to a bad start following the 2-1 defeat to South Africa on Monday, but Plumptre maintains that the team has not lost hope.

Later Today, Nigeria will be back in action and the chance to get their campaign back on track with an important game against Botswana.

Speaking ahead of the game, the Plumptre said the Falcons are very much in the tournament and are counting on the fans for support.

“You can’t just look at one game and say all hope is destroyed, if you ever played football, you’ll know that there is always little bumps in the road and that’s the way to learn.”

“Of course we are still going for the 10th (title) and we need all the support because without them it’s going to be difficult.

“We can put everything into it, but without support things will remain hard,” Plumptre told NFF TV.
