Nigeria’s Gift Monday has been shortlisted for February’s Player of the Month Award in the Spanish Liga F, following her impressive performances for Costa Adeje Tenerife.

The 23-year-old striker has been in red-hot form, scoring 10 goals in 19 league matches, helping her club to sixth place in the standings.

Among the League’s Best

Monday’s prolific form sees her ranked third in the league’s goal-scoring chart, trailing only Barcelona’s Ewa Pajor (15 goals) and Granada’s Edna Imade (12 goals).

She is up against Real Madrid’s Alba Redondo, Barcelona’s Caroline Hansen, Ainhoa Marín (Deportivo), Ane Azkona (Bilbao), Ari Mingueza (Granada), and Elba Vergés (Eibar) for the prestigious monthly award.

Monday on Her Best Season Yet

Although she failed to score in Tenerife’s recent 1-1 draw against Eibar, Monday had been on an incredible run of six consecutive goal-scoring games before that.

Monday, who joined Tenerife in 2022 from Nigeria’s FC Robo, recently extended her contract until 2027, reaffirming her commitment to the club.

With her best-ever season in Europe, a Super Falcons call-up for the upcoming international window could be on the horizon.
