Kelechi Iheanacho has returned to Sevilla following the expiration of his loan deal with English Championship side Middlesbrough.

Iheanacho joined Sevilla in the summer of 2024 after the expiration of his contract with Leicester City but failed to make the desired impact at the Spanish club.

So far, Iheanacho has struggled for match sharpness, having made only two starts in the three months before joining Boro.

Middlesbrough manager Michael Carrick has been impressed with Iheanacho’s attitude and eagerness to contribute.

The Nigerian striker is set to join the 2004 EFL Cup winners on a temporary deal until the end of the season, with an option for a permanent transfer.

Ligue 1 side Olympique Marseille has previously been linked with the Nigerian striker.

Sevilla head coach, Garcia Pimienta has expressed confidence in Kelechi Iheanacho’s ability to start scoring goals as he adapts to his new environment.
