Taiwo Awoniyi scores again for Union Berlin

Nigerian striker Taiwo Awoniyi was on target for Union Berlin’s 2-0 win against Wolfsburg on Saturday.

The hosts went in front within five minutes of the restart, after Genki Haraguchi played Max Kruse’s pass into the path of Awoniyi who finished it in style.

Awoniyi who made his debut for Nigeria in the shocking 1-0 defeat to the Central African Republic last week Thursday has now scored six goals for Urs Fischer’s men in all the league and only Robert Lewandowski and Erling Halland have scored more.

Sheraldo Becker made the points safe with the winner eight minutes from regulation time in the Week 8 tie at Stadion An der Alten Försterei, Berlin.

The 2-0 win in the capital, takes Urs Fischer’s men to fifth in the standings.
