Talle reveals Kogi United’s dead end ahead new NNL season

Kogi United striker Victor Talle has revealed that the Lokoja based Nigeria National League side is at a dead-end ahead of the commencement of the 2021 Nigeria National League season due to the backlog of salaries and sign-on fees owed players.

Talle speaking in a chat with brila.net said the players have even resolved to go ahead, for now, to play their opening game of the season in Maiduguri against DMD FC of Maiduguri on Saturday and to request payment of their entitlement next week but are yet to leave Lokoja as at 11 pm Thursday night and uncertain about when the trip will happen for this weekend’s opener.

“There is no concentration because players that missed last year’s sign-on fees have not been paid, this year’s sign-on fees have not been paid as well. And you’re expecting that player to do well.
So from next week, we are waiting to see their response. If the money is being approved we will see if we can be able to go then fine or we let go but till now we have not heard whether the money has been approved.”
