Tamara Ezekiel said Kano Pillars’ players aren’t afraid of Rivers United, but admit they have to be at their best to win the game.
The Sai Masu Gida will host the league leaders at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium for the NPFL week 16th encounter.
While Kano Pillars hasn’t been at the their, Rivers United have been impressive this season — recording nine victories, five draw and one defeat.
The Pride of Rivers are also leading the table with table with 32 points, while Pillars who are former Champions are languishing at 14th position.
Tamara who has been present in Kano Pillars’ team this season, was asked whether he could imagine the current gap between both sides, before the start of the campaign.
“No, I can’t,” he said. “But the thing is you have to have respect for what they have done in the few months , more so since the beginning of the season.
“But we are Kano Pillars , we are always going to into every game with the feelings that we can win.”
“We are one of the best teams in the history of the league and that also probably means that we equally strong as any team currently” He told brila.net.
Despite an uneven start that has included Pillars losing seven of their fifteen games, the Tamara believes they can still close the gap on Rivers United and possibly picked continental tickets.
“It’s an important game and with a win we still have got the possibility to close up to the teams in front of us,”
“We have just got to keep on picking up points, get further away from our poor start and improve ourselves.
“We need to improve in all the aspects of the game. But still every game in this league is massive and if you can manage three points it’s a job well done.” He concluded.
