Tammy Abraham set to join Wolves on loan from Chelsea

Wolves are hoping to complete the loan signing of Tammy Abraham from Chelsea in time for their Premier League game against Manchester City next Monday.

The 21-year-old has spent the first half of the season on loan at Aston Villa in the Championship and has impressed, scoring 16 goals in 21 matches.

However, it looks increasingly likely that the striker will spend the second half of the campaign with Villa’s Midlands rivals Wolves as they are in advanced discussions with Chelsea over a deal.

Chelsea included a break clause into the loan agreement with Villa in the summer enabling them to recall Abraham this month and they look set to activate that clause this week.

Wolves are hopeful of tying up the deal over the next few days in order to have him available against the reigning champions with whom they drew 1-1 at Molineux earlier in the season.

Maurizio Sarri has given the move his blessing as the Chelsea boss wants to monitor Abraham’s progress in the Premier League as opposed to the Championship.

Abraham spent last season on loan at Swansea City scoring five goals in 31 Premier League matches, although only 15 of those were as a starter.
