Tanzania squad still very open to new players, says Coach Amunike

Former Nigeria international and current handler of the Tanzanian national team, Emmanuel Amunike has revealed as preparation are already in top gear ahead of tomorrow’s AFCON draws that any player who can add value to the team will surely be welcome.

Amunike emerged a hero in Tanzania where he has helped secure a priceless ticket to the Africa Cup of Nations for the East African country.
Tanzania last featured at the Africa Cup of Nations in 1980 when it was hosted by Nigeria. Amuneke ended their 39-year absence having led his team to a convincing 3-0 home win over regional rivals Uganda.
Speaking with www.brila.net ahead of the draws, Amuneke hinted that the national team is open to everyone regardless of their background, even as players who can add value to his squad will always be welcome.
“The national team is for the whole Tanzanian and if we see any player that add value to the team, why not”.
“The players we have along the journey, you can never predict especially due to injury and other things so if we see any player who can add something to the squad the player is welcome”.
“The national team belongs to all Tanzanian as long as you can’t a value to the squad, it doesn’t matter where you are, come form, have the money or not, even if you sleep I the street, asking as you can add something to the team, they are very welcome”.
The Tanzanian government promised a handsome cash reward to Amunike and his team on qualification for the AFCON which holds in June.
