“The game changer” – Chukwueze rescues Villarreal from defeat against Real Madrid

Samuel Chukwueze was the hero as he won the penalty that helped Villarreal snatch a point against Real Madrid in the Spanish La Liga match on Saturday.

Chukwueze who featured in Nigeria’s doubleheader clash with Sierra Leone in the last international break was dropped to the bench for the visit of the champions.

The youngster was later introduced for Carlos Bacca by Coach Unai Emery with less than 30 minutes to play and he immediately made huge contributions to help the Yellow submarines snatched a point at home.

Villarreal were trailing Real Madrid via Mariano Diaz’s goal, but Chukwueze later won a penalty as he was brought down by Thibaut Courtois inside the box in the 76th minutes.

Spanish forward Gerard Moreno stepped up and converted the spot-kick as both sides shared the spoils.

Despite coming on as a sub, Chukwueze had 16 touches, 80 percent pass success, one key pass, one shot, and one successful dribble.

The FIFA U-17 World Cup winner has just a goal and an assist in the league this season.
