“The players lost shape and exposed themselves”, – Fatai Osho on Enyimba’s defeat to Pyramids

Enyimba’s boss Fatai Osho said his players lost shape and exposed themselves after going down 4-1 to Pyramids FC of Egypt on Sunday.

Enyimba took a shock inside the opening minutes of the encounter, thanks to goal from Victor Mbaoma but defensive blunders from Nelson Ogbonaya, Hassan Abubakar and Stephen Manyo allowed the hosts to come back and score four goals.

Speaking at the post match conference, Osho said his team showed some promises earlier in the game, but lost track in the second half, due to tiredness.

“We had our game plan and going into the game they stuck to it. We saw a lot of promises in the first half. The second half we lost it when we started noticing a lot of tiredness. They started playing out of shape and exposed exposed themselves a lot” he said.

On the return leg in Aba, Osho said his boys have to show courage, if they are stand a chance of staging one of the biggest comebacks in the history of the competition.

“We have to let them (the players) know that it’s not over yet. We have to play and score and not concede; if we can do that we have a hope. A situation where we can score one or two goals, that brings hope and we have to work on their pysche”

Enyimba need at least 3-0 win in the second to be guaranteed a place in the semi-final of the competition.
