Tick-Tock! Gombe United Walking Tightrope

Gombe United are either an extremely rich club or managed by an sorely poor board; one with no idea of what it takes to direct the affair of a “professional outfit”.

Their fans encroached the Pantami Stadium during a rescheduled league match against Enugu Rangers, harassed match officials. They hauled missiles at everyone else and their own goalkeeper.

Which sane management sits idly while a player of the team is not only verbally harassed, but also physically attacked in the course of carrying out his duties?

Five days after the despicable action of the home fans, Gombe United have not issued an official apology.  The club shut itself away from the world and shut even their own own goalkeeper out.

On two occasions since the attack, Fabiyi Emmanuel has claimed no club official, save the doctor, had come round to see him in or put a call through.

On Friday, the League Management Company hit the 48-hour countdown to unleash its fury on the club, unless it appeals the ₦3,250,000.00 fine.

Five days after the despicable action of the home fans, Gombe United have not issued an official apology.  The club shut itself away from the world and shut even their own own goalkeeper out.

The club was also ordered pay the medical bills of their injured goalie and to play the next two league matches behind closed doors.

It’s day two on Monday since the charges against the club. The 48-hour countdown is ticking and will stop sometime around noon.

Perhaps Gombe United will whip up some phenomenal defence or keep up this foolhardy, grandstanding against the rest of a progressive.

Tick-tock, tick-tock the clock winds down.
